Risk Analysis

Use this application to create and modify risk profiles for equipment that have a risk model associated with them. With this app you can:

  • Run risk analysis to create a risk profile for an equipment
  • Create “What-if” scenarios

Running Risk Analysis

  1. Using the search box in the Tiles control, type the equipment id, description or equipment type to filter the list.
  2. Select the equipment that you want to run risk on.
  3. The system will load the risk model associated with the selected equipment, e.g. pressure vessel or column top
  4. Enter all the fields required to run risk.
    • If the equipment has a current driving risk, then fields will be populated with the values for the last successful driving risk run
  5. Click on the play button on the top right to run risk.
    • If one or more mandatory fields in the model have not been filled in, the system will display a message at the top with a list of issues that the you need to correct in order to run risk
  6. The system will display the calculated results returned from the model. If the model is attached to a risk matrix, it will also display overall risk rankings, consequence and probability of failure, and inspection priority numbers for any damage mechanisms within the model.
  7. Once you get a valid risk ranking, the system will allow you to save the result. To do this, click on the save icon on the top right
  8. In the dialog that appears, enter a name and comment for this run, and select whether it is to be saved as a driving or what-if scenario
  9. Click on the OK button to store the results
  10. If the run is saved as a driving risk, any previous driving risk will be moved to historical runs.

Searching for Historic Scenarios

AllAssets stores previous runs, either driving or what-if, so that you can review historical information. To load a stored scenario:

  1. On the top-right-hand side of the screen, you will see a watch icon. Click on it
  2. The system will display a dialog that shows all the stored scenarios
    • Current Driving Scenario will be marked as Driving Scenario
    • Historical driving scenarios will be marked as Driving Scenario (Historical)
    • What-if scenarios will be marked as What-if Scenario
  3. Select the scenario that you would like to load and click on the OK button
  4. The system will display the stored information.

Please note that if you click on the Run button and the risk calculation is successful, you can store this scenario as the Driving Risk.

Updating Model Input Values

It's possible to link model inputs directly to data stored within AllAssets, allowing for intermodular data transfer. There are two options to update the input values:

  • Update Individual Input
  • Bulk Update Operation

Update Individual Input

If the model input attribute already is assigned to an operation, the system displays an icon next to the input label to allow the user to have a choice to override the existing value. The override value is value that returns from calculation of the Operation.

  1. From RBI (Risk Based Inspections) -> Risk Analysis application, select an Item that is linked to the already configured node input mappings model
  2. Locate a model tab that has the Calculate Override Value icon download__3_.pngnext to the label.
  3. Click on the icon . The system uses the assigned Operation input attribute to calculate and override the existing value
  4. Click ondownload__2_.png to roll back
  5. Run the risk after overriding the value and save the risk to obtain the value

Note: If the system cannot find any Inspection Reports/Thickness Reports for the selected Item to calculate the override value, it will display a message to notify the user of this.

Bulk Update Operation

The user can view the to be updated value and the original value for each input attribute. The user also has a choice whether to update all inputs or exclude inputs.

  1. From RBI -> Risk Analysis application, select an Item that is linked to the already configured node input mappings model
  2. Click on Bulk Update Operation icon on the top right of the page download__1_.pngdownload.png
  3. The Update Input Values dialog popup will appear
  4. Select the top checkbox to update all available inputs with new value (if any)
  5. Uncheck the input’s checkbox to exclude it from the bulk update input
  6. Click OK button to update input values
  7. Run the risk after overriding the value and save the risk to obtain the value

Running Mass Criticality

AllAssets streamlines the way that you perform a risk analysis on equipment. Using the filtering and search capabilities, you can group equipment and run risk at the same time for the selected group.

The system also allows you to run mass criticality even without entering any data in the risk model itself. The system will use the Hierarchy Template information along with the Model Mappings in order to fetch the information from the template if no previous Driving Risk is available. If the Driving Risk scenario is present, the system will utilize that as the base for the new risk profile.

To run mass criticality:

  1. Use the search capability on the Tiles control to filter the equipment that you want to run risk for
  2. Once the equipment has been filtered, click on the fast forward icon on the top right-hand side of the screen
  3. The system will display a dialog. Enter the name for the run (comments) and select whether this would be a Driving Risk or a What-if scenario.
  4. Click on the OK button.
  5. The system will process the equipment and once is completed the results of the operation will be available on the results register. To see them, click on the notebook icon on the top right-hand side of the screen.
  6. The system will open a dialog that displays the results of the most-recent mass criticality run, indicating if the operation was successful or not, and what the issues were.
