Managing Manual Mitigation Tasks
Managing Manual Mitigation Tasks
(Return to the Mitigations Main Menu)
The AllAssets development team have improved the functionality of the old Ad-Hoc tasks, now known as Manual Tasks. The improvements are as follows:
- Manual Tasks now persist, and do not get lost when the User updates the Mitigation Plan
- Manual tasks can now have a frequency and recurring due date
- Linking an Inspection or Thickness Report to a Manual Task causes the existing Task to be closed and a new Recommended Manual Task to be created
- Manual Tasks can hold the same information as Risk Based Tasks
- Additional information in the Manual Task will be carried over to the new Recommended Task when the Manual Task is closed.
Creating Manual Tasks
The Users can add a Manual Task by clicking on Add Manual Task as follows:
The application opens the Task Edit dialog which allows the Users to configure the Manual Task.
The User enters the following information
- Mechanism (Required Field)
- Method (Required Field)
- Inspection Priority
- Extent
- Frequency
- Last Inspection Date
- Due Date
In the example above the User has entered the Last Inspection Date and the Frequency. The application calculates and displays the Due Date when the User clicks on OK to save the Manual Task.
Linking a Task to an Inspection Report
The User creates an Inspection or Thickness Report manually, or uploads the Report using the Data Uploads functionality. The process of creating the Report, much in the same way as with Risk Based Tasks, links the Report to the Mitigation task via the Master Inspection Method.
As with the Risk Based Tasks the newly linked Manual Task is flagged as Closed and the Application creates a new Recommended Task in its place as in the image below:
Please note that for the new Recommended Task the Last inspection date is the date of the most recent inspection and the new Due Date is calculated from this date plus the Frequency.
At this stage, just like the standard Mitigation Tasks the User has the choice whether to Activate the Recommended Task or to Reject it.
Please note that every completed Task now has a double chevron next to it as follows:
If the User clicks on the chevrons the application opens the Inspection or Thickness Report which is linked to the closed Mitigation Task.
