Welcome to the AllAssets May 2025 Release. This release is a significant release in includes two major new features.
1: Fully revised Mitigation Planning
2: Upgraded Events capability - Phase 1
3: Non Conformance Report Events Interfacing with ERP (CMMS)
4: Upcoming features
The AllAssets Development team have completely redesigned the Mitigations process with a view to making it easier for you and your Users to manage and Update Mitigations with a clearer display and reduced mouse-clicks. We have enhanced the ad-Hoc Task Management, now known as Manual Tasks and we have developed a strong link between the Inspection and Thickness Reports and the Mitigations.
AllAssets - Revised Mitigations Planning - brief overview
(A link to further details here Mitigations Main Menu and at the end of this section)
Pinnacle is delighted to introduce the new Mitigations with some significant changes to functionality.
Please see below for the comparison between the old and the new mitigations page:
Old Mitigations | New Mitigations |
Some of the Key aspects of the new mitigations are as follows:
- The concept of separate Recommendations and Draft/Active Plan has been removed. The new Mitigations simply contains an ongoing plan with Tasks having four statuses, namely:
- Recommended
- Active
- Complete
- Rejected
- The User can edit Active Tasks by clicking on the hyperlink in the Method column. This functionality was not possible in the old Mitigations.
- All Data that was entered in a Task will be copied over to a new Task when the Active Task is closed.
- When the User scrolls horizontally in the Mitigations grid the first four columns, Status, Mechanism, Method and Due Date all remain frozen. This allows the User to continue to see which Mitigation task they are working with.
- Users can add Manual Tasks (formally known as ad-hoc tasks) at any time.
- Manual Tasks can also be set to have a frequency and a due date and can recur.
- Unlike the old Mitigations the Manual Tasks do not get lost.
- Manual Tasks can be linked to an Inspection or Thickness report using the Master Inspection Methods.
- Color coding now makes more sense. Active Tasks are green and Active Tasks which are overdue are highlighted in red.
- Mitigations now have a bulk update option which allows the following:
- Bulk accept (Activate) Recommended Tasks at once
- Bulk Reject Active or Recommended Tasks at once.
- All Data, including all historical data is available one one screen. Filters allow the User to focus on Active and Recommended Tasks
- Users will be able to click on a Closed Task in order to take them to the associated Inspection or Thickness Reports.
- Users can easily download the current Mitigation Plan.
For more details about the way to Manage the Mitigations please go to the Mitigations Main Menu to access a set of Articles relating to Mitigations.
Upgraded Events Capability - Phase 1
The Development team are embarking on a process of significantly improving the Events in AllAssets. Phase 1 of this initiative is to improve the flexibility of the design and layout of the Events and we have completed the following tasks:
- Creating Events from more areas in the Application
- Events restricted to Application Areas
- Required Fields in Events and Default Values in Events
- New Field Type - Multiline Text
- Increased Screen space for Events
Creating Events from more areas in the Application
The application now permits Users to create events in the following Locations:
- Inspection Report Header
- Thickness Report Header
In these locations in the Application, the User will notice a new Events icon in the top right hand of the screen:
When the User clicks on the Event Icon the application opens a screen to show the list of Events already linked to the Asset and allows the User to create a new Event by clicking on the "+" icon
Events restricted to Application areas
The application now permits Admin Users to specify which areas in the Application an Event can be created from. This is a development which will be more useful in the future when the application will allow Users to create Events from more areas in the Application. It is important to guide the end Users to create the correct reports for the correct location and occasion.
Required Fields in Events and Default Values in Events
The application now permits Users to configure their Events to have Required or Mandatory Fields and also for any field to have a default value pre-selected when the end User creates the Event.
Please see below, the final two field show the Default Value and the checkbox indicating that this is a Required Field
New Field Type - Multiline Text
An additional design feature allows the User to define a Multi-line Text field in the events. The team recognized that in some cases the standard text fields are very small and impossible to read if they had long text in them.
The Users see an additional option when defining a Text field:
When the end User edits an event they see the following:
The multiline text fields are also dynamic and allow the User to click and drag on the bottom right hand corner to re-size the field as follows:
More screen-space for Events
The team have made the Events Dialog box approximately 50% wider than before. This allows the end User to see more data in the single screen.
** The next phase of the Events Enhancements will make the Events a full-screen editable item
Non Conformance Reports interfacing with ERP (CMMS)
AllAssets now has the capacity to send Non-Conformance Reports to an external CMMS such as SAP, and Maximo.
The implementation of this has been completed in such a way that it is simple to configure the system to interface with systems which allow other applications to send and receive data.
Please contact the Pinnacle Team to discuss this if you feel that you would like to explore this.
